We are probably all familiar with the principles of Yin and Yang. This principle indicates that all things exist as inseparable opposites. There are numerous examples of this, such as female-male, dark-light, and old-young. These pairs of opposites attract and complement each other. This principle dates back to the 3rd century BC, perhaps even earlier, and is a fundamental concept in Chinese philosophy and culture in general.
As the Yin and Yang symbol illustrates, each side also contains an element of the other's opposite, represented by small dots. In the illustration, no one part is superior to the other, as an increase in one leads to a corresponding decrease in the other. In order to achieve harmony, there must be a balance between the two opposites.
Everything, in nature and in ourselves, is Yin and Yang. There is no man without virtue or without fault, just as there is no light without darkness, or rain without sun. Everything changes harmoniously. Day replaces night, and then night replaces day. Good turns into bad, and vice versa. Nothing is just black or white. It is the same in nature and in life in general. Everything is energy that harmoniously changes its form. Perhaps it is best to look at the whole, but to focus on the light.
