Conversely, frequent criticism, ridicule, and disapproval of our actions can lead to low self-esteem.
Ideally, we would all possess high levels of self-esteem and confidence, as these traits contribute to physical and mental well-being. Such individuals are more resilient to stress and generally more satisfied with school, work, and life in general. They believe in themselves and trust that their efforts will lead to success. In contrast, individuals with low self-esteem may perceive themselves as incompetent, unintelligent, unattractive, or lacking in various other qualities. They may struggle to sleep when faced with adversity and often perceive life as unfair, frequently complaining about their circumstances.
Developing self-confidence and self-esteem should be an ongoing aspect of everyday life, rather than a one-time endeavor. Therefore, it is beneficial to practice positive thinking and cultivate a positive self-image daily. Let's endeavor to refrain from negative self-talk and strive to surround ourselves with a positive environment.
