When we mention gossip, we typically refer to behavior that is negative and undesirable. If we're honest with ourselves, we'd probably all admit to engaging in gossip at times. However, we don't feel good when we become the subject of gossip.
Usually, gossip revolves around someone's imperfections and shortcomings behind the backs of our friends and acquaintances. But what if we started gossiping about their virtues and good deeds instead? Let's call it positive gossip. By spreading good news, can we positively influence ourselves, the subject of our story, and the person with whom we share the information?
In this case, honesty is paramount. While adding some juicy but untrue details might make the story more interesting, it's best to stick to the truth. Imagine you're gossiping about someone behind their back, intending to showcase their positive qualities. It's entirely possible; we just need to make an effort. Let's shift our focus from the disadvantages to the advantages of gossip. Why not accept the people around us exactly as they are? Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, so why not talk about their positive qualities? Let's give it a try.
