Foods that can improve mood

There are simply days when we are not in the mood, when we are gloomy and grumpy. Sometimes because of the weather conditions, sometimes because of certain happenings around us. Of course, stress, anxiety, and depression are inevitable and widespread. In fact, health consists not only of physical but also of mental aspects, and nutrition plays a major role in maintaining the balance between mind and body.

Good and proper nutrition affects the production of hormones in the body, including serotonin, which is called the hormone of happiness. Therefore, there are foods that can positively contribute to improving our mood. So why not try to cheer yourself up with simple things like consuming certain products?

For example, all nuts, especially walnuts, are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, they are rich in antioxidants and vitamin E. We all have nuts at our fingertips, such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, etc.

Then, the so-called berry fruits, i.e., strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, are within reach. Which are also sources of antioxidants. Antioxidants protect brain cells, improve cognitive functions, and improve mood. In addition, berry fruits are low in calories and rich in fiber, which makes them an excellent choice for physical health as well.

And another fruit that we call a vegetable can have a good effect on us. It's the tomato. Tomatoes are rich in lycopene. It, in turn, helps to increase concentration and attention and improve memory.

Furthermore, whole grains are not only beneficial for physical health but are also associated with positive effects on mental well-being. They are rich in complex carbohydrates. Whole grains ensure the release of glucose into the bloodstream, which helps the brain maintain healthy cognitive processes. They are also full of vitamins and minerals that are important for our mood.

Of course, we should consume sugar and high-calorie cakes and pancakes in limited quantities, but we can also replace them with dark chocolate. It is rich in flavonoids. They improve mood, help us relieve stress, and improve cognitive functions. However, it must be emphasized that it is important to consume it in moderation and to contain as high a percentage of cocoa as possible.

It remains to try to fix the day.
